Fine, Limp Hair No More!

As my faithful readers know, I have struggled with fine hair…well…from the day I was born with no hair.  My mother fully confesses that she went through a period of worry when no hair was coming in at the ripe old age of 6 months—with very little sprouting in the months to follow.  I FULLY remember sitting in the chair at the “beauty shop” listening to my mom tell the hairdresser, “Is there anything we can do about her lack of hair?”  I was about 5 at the time…not such a good start on the pathway to my beauty self esteem.  Perhaps I was picking up on her concern…but I have taken this fine hair problem seriously ever since.

For this reason, I had serious hopes of a miracle when I read about L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Volume Filler Thickening Shampoo, Conditioner…and other thickening products…in Allure Magazine’s Best Of Beauty. The product claim is  that Filoxane (their proprietary ingredient) not only makes your hair plumper after each use but continues to work the more that you wash your hair.   “Plumping molecules penetrate the shaft, fattening strands from the inside.”  I am here to tell you—and I could not be more serious here—this product works!!!  I have been using it for weeks, and my hair is continuing to become fuller…seriously.  For the first time in years (maybe my lifetime), I can regularly use conditioner and not suffer flat, lifeless hair.  I’ve never experienced anything like it!

hair 3I had similar hopes last year when I read about L’Oreal Paris’ Professional Line Volumetry.  Sadly, this product did not work for me, and it was relatively difficult to come by.  Not so the new L’Oreal product—it is readily available AND it costs about $4.99!  I am just beginning to try their Fiber Amplifying Concentrate treatments—I will let you know.  But, really, I’m not sure how my hair can become much fuller.  Wait, these are words that I never thought would cross my lips…wow!

Until Next Time-

P.S. I am FULLY immersed in the process of testing the products from this year’s Allure Beauty Breakthroughs. I am vigilantly testing individual products, and/or talking to professionals about them.  There will be no one-try wonder testing here…your will get feedback from me only after each product is investigated thoroughly!
