It’s All In The Bag

I must say that there really is something to be said for the new trend toward smaller handbags. Mind you, this is coming from someone who generally carries a tote about half as big as I am. The bigger the better seems to be my motto. And much like all of the spaces in my house, if my bag appears to be slightly empty I just fill it up!

But lately I am tiring of hauling around luggage size handbags. I am into working on my posture and these behemoth bags were simply not adding to my efforts. However, no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t seem to pare down my “essentials” to one small bag.

And then I ‘discovered’ the magic of the clutch! Today’s clutches are just big enough to hold what I consider to be absolutely essential—don’t ask–and they fit perfectly into my favorite, can’t-let-go-of, giant tote. Now I find that the tote still goes with me, in the car and to the office, making me feel secure and safe, BUT it stays there. When I am running around on the many errands and meetings that make up my day, I simply grab the little clutch and get moving. It makes things so much easier! No more digging through ‘stuff’ to get to my wallet, lipstick, cell phone—they are all in my little clutch in easy sight and even easier reach!

I feel so organized and free. How could it have taken me this long to figure this out?? I must give credit to Clare V . Her beautiful little zip top clutches opened the doors to this new lifestyle. They are simple, stylish and roomy, and there are endless fabulous styles to choose from.  I’m in love. My clutch collection is growing. My posture is improving. I’m feeling free!
