We cannot wind down our journey through the world of “T’s” without taking of note the Graphic T-Shirt as a major trend in current fashion. From the low end to the very tip top of the fashion hierarchy the graphic “T” has made its mark. What once began as a hand painted personal statement in the 60’s is now an explosion of color, print, images and messages of all types—and prices.
From Mary Katrantzou’s amazing digital print graphic images to Givenchy’s iconic style statements, “Graphic” is having a very major moment indeed. Peter Pilotto’s prints are colorful visions of extraordinary precision. Zoe Karssen taps into edgy street style with a rock-n-roll flair unparalleled. You name the T-Shirt designer and we will place a bet that graphic images are a part of the line-up.
None may be so clever as the often photoed Moschino McDonalds-like image found on their oversized “T” that seemed to show up with timed precision during F/W14 fashion week (thank you Anna Dello Russo).
We love the trend—standing ovation–there is something there for everyone!
Until next time-
